Evaluation Question 3

The Media forms a massive part of our everyday lives. As Audiences, our days normaly consist of reading, listening and watching a form of Media, eg. Talking about what happened last night on a reality tv show we watch. In this way the Media can be said to be part of the social convention of everyday life, and has become an institution, like the Family or the State.
Popular Media institutions include BBC, The UK film council, Vertigo Films & Film Four.
These are the four major film institutions based in the uk, and one of these four companies are the most likely to fund and distrubute our film. Vertigo films is the most likely institution that will take our film as it is most relatable to the genre of movie that our group has chosen. it seems like the company that will most likely back us on our idea.
The company least likely to fund our movie is the BBC, as its main approach is more independant dramas such as 'Billy Elliot' and 'The First Grader' which in no way are like ours. The other two just never seemed to be a factor of option to us.
Vertigo Films have distributed movies such as the sweeny and that movie is a similar type to ours, About a cop who seeks revenge and the comapny also go for bigger budget productions over smaller arthouse style movies which is what we want to do.
Paul Greengrass is a liable candidate to direct our movie, as he has done a great job with the 'Bourne Ultimatum' and that is the style of movie that we want to do. That sort of Sub-Genre spy thriller that he captured very well in the 'Bourne Ultimatum'. As well as Doug Liman as he directed the 'Bourne Identity' which was also a succefull and action-packed movie.
Moving away from the 'Bourne' series another plausable candidate is Thomas Alfredson who directed the superb 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' which brought Gary Oldman to win an oscar for best actor. The budget estimnation of our movie will be £10,000,000, this will be to market the movie on such places such as billboards and to use intuitive product placement and air a TV advert during relevent shows that people who watch them will want to see our movie, such as whitehall and other detective shows. this will also be to produce the movie and to pay the production company. The production company who we have chose to work with is 'Working Title' as they have the backing of universal studios untill 2015 they are a perfect candidate as the have produced films like the ones that we are filming such as 'Atonement' which was a good movie.
I have already briefly explained the advertising campaign of our movie, but we also need to focus on interview with cast members on primetime TV shows such as 'Alan Carr: Chatty Man' and other popular viewed shows, its all about getting the word around about our movie and showing people little snipits to entise them to come watch. While we shall feature adverts on popular social networking site such as Facebook, Youtube and Twitter we also need to try and reach people who arent advid users of them. We can achieve this by putting up posters on billboards and using TV advertisement to stratigically place adverts during shows similar to those of the movie to hopefully get audiances who will watch our movie. we would do all this through Vertigo films as they would be the ones backing us and supporting us as they would get profit at the end.
